所感:
年初の最初のMcKEN木鶏会の人物を誰にしたらよいか、直前までずっと悩んでいた。年末年始から矢沢永吉さんのパッションの影響を受け続けていることもあり、「致知」ではおそらく取り上げられたことがない方なのかとも思いつつも、今年最初の人に選ぶことにした。
途方もなく爆発的なパッションを持ちつつも、他人に対してのきめ細かな心配りと謙虚な姿勢を持つ人間性に多くの方が魅了され続けているのだと思う。
７６歳で、あの年末の紅白歌合戦のステージは圧巻であったし、刺激的でも合った。
彼の著書の中に『自分に合っているかどうかが才能ってことだ』という言葉がある。こうした思いでキャリアを爆走できれば人生も痛快であろう。
年末年始、矢沢さんを強く意識する機会を得て、若い世代の方々に、実社会に出て、知識も大切だし、実践的な考え方や行動についての価値についても、大切な何かを伝えたいという気持ちを改めて鼓舞された。それもガツンと。

Reflections:
Right up until the last minute, I agonized over who to feature as the first person for the New Year’s McKen Mokkei meeting. Having been continuously influenced by Eikichi Yazawa’s passion since the New Year period, and thinking he was probably someone never covered in Chichi magazine, I decided to choose him as this year’s first subject.
I believe many continue to be captivated by his immense, explosive passion, coupled with his meticulous consideration for others and his humble demeanor.
At 76, his performance on the NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen stage at the end of last year was truly magnificent and deeply inspiring.
In one of his books, he states: “Whether it suits you or not is what defines talent.” To be able to charge ahead like this throughout one’s career must make life truly exhilarating.
Over the New Year period, I found myself acutely aware of Eikichi Yazawa, and this experience rekindled my desire to convey something profound to the younger generation: that while knowledge is important, stepping into the real world also demands an appreciation for the value of practical thinking and action. It was quite a powerful blow.
