『凡事徹底（ぼんじ てってい）』
パナソニックの松下幸之助氏、イエローハットの創業者の鍵山秀三郎氏の座右の銘の一つ。
‘Do everything thoroughly’

所感:
大学の恩師の講義の中で、研究者の心得として、「平凡の非凡」、ということを幾度か聞く。地道な、継続的な行為の積み重ねが、他からは優れた努力と映り、極めて、非凡な存在となる。仕事でも研究でも、終りが見えない不安との戦いだが、先を見すぎず、今できることに真摯に向き合うことが可能性の扉を開くのだと思う。
禅宗の言葉でも「脚下照顧」（きゃっかしょうこ）という言葉がある。これも「まず自分の足元をよく見て、しっかり、着実に歩むこと」を説く。
これらの言葉は、自己反省を促す戒めでもあり、直面した課題に真摯に向き合い、他人を批判する前にまず自分の行動を振り返るべきだという教えにつながる。
My personal impressions and comments：
In my university lectures, I often heard my professor say that researchers should strive for ‘extraordinary through ordinary.’ He explained that through steady, continuous effort, one’s work will be recognized as outstanding, and one will become an extraordinary person.
Whether in work or research, it is a battle against the uncertainty of an unseen end, but I believe that focusing sincerely on what can be done now, without looking too far ahead, opens the door to possibilities.
In Zen Buddhism, there is the phrase ‘kyakkashoko’ (looking down at one’s feet). This also teaches the importance of first looking closely at one’s own feet and walking steadily and firmly.
These words serve as a reminder to reflect on oneself, to sincerely confront the challenges at hand, and to look inward before criticizing others.
